These are some of the initial ideas I sketched out for the letterhead.
After I had enough ideas to work with, I used Illustrator to develop them further. When I felt happy with the basic layout and colouring of the design, I started to make it into a letterhead.
Today was my last full day at Whitespace, and I spent it putting the finishing touches to the photographer's letterhead I had been designing earlier on in the week, and also designing a version of it that kept the style of his website. When I had finished both, I showed them to Carol, who looked over them, and showed me how to improve them, which is how I spent the rest of my day.
I spent the majority of today at Dundee Contemporary Arts for research so that Whitespace can pitch an idea for the design of print and web based advertising. First we were shown round the centre followed by a meeting about what the centre needed, then we took some photographs of the place.
After losing all track of time, we got back to Whitespace at around four, and I carried on working on the photographer's letterhead.
Started my placement today, spent most of my time getting acquainted with my new surroundings and meeting people, everyone seems very nice and welcoming. The enormous Happy Birthday badge on the outside of the building made travelling up here instead of just getting a placement near home worthwhile in itself.
Began to work on an identity/logo of sorts for a photographer. Also made some tea.
I have arrived in Edinburgh for my placement at Whitespace, and what better way to record the events of my placement than a blog with suitably hilarious photographs of myself?
Just the way I'd like to present myself to everyone on the internet.
